The current and very positive health and wellness recommendation is to practice “Mindfulness”. Without going into detail (although I urge you all to learn more) I will give this simple explanation.
Being Mindful is to take the time to look around and NOTICE what is important, STOP and smell the roses, and just take a BREATH.
There is no better time of year for practicing Mindfulness than the month of December. It just so happens that every year on the Friday between Christmas and the New Year Good Shepherd Church hosts a blood drive, a perfect opportunity to be Mindful.
On Friday December 29th you take a break from the madness of the Holiday busyness and join us in Raasch Hall. You will NOTICE what is important as you look around and realize that every unit of blood collected that day has the potential of saving 3 lives!
There probably will not be any roses that day, but you can STOP smell and taste a few Christmas cookies!
Lastly you will have time to take a BREATH as you give THE most important gift of the season!
Please schedule your appointment at 1-800-RED-CROSS, or on the Red Cross Blood website/phone app, or on sign up outside of Raasch hall.
