Sunday Morning Worship
Opportunity to Serve
People who serve on Sunday mornings are responsible for making our Sunday morning worship time warm and welcoming. Hospitality begins in the parking lot but doesn’t ever stop.
If your God-given talents include:
· A warm smile
· The ability to answer questions (or acquire the right resource)
· The ability to park cars
· The ability to read in front of a crowd
…then this is the opportunity for you!
Ushers – Serve alternating months (6 per year) for one hour each week. They arrive early and stay late to help people feel welcome. Duties include passing out bulletins, assisting with seating, collecting the offering, receiving bulletins at the end of worship, and preparing pews for the next hour.
Welcome Desk – Arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of a service and stay 15 minutes after the start of service. You would be responsible for guiding people, answering questions, and leaving notes for the office. Servants sign up to work one service per month.
Tech Team – Sound and visual techs serve one Sunday a month at all three worship hours. Training is provided for both of these positions and a long term commitment is asked. LiveStream operators serve at 9:30 worship once a month. Techs also help with special services (wedding, funerals & holidays) and rehearsals of worship arts teams as needed and available.
Door Greeters – Serve for one service a month to greet and shake hands as guests enter the building. Arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of service.
Communion Stewards – Communion stewards prepare the elements for corporate worship. On the job training is provided and stewards serve a couple of times a year for one worship hour.
Communion Servers – Communion servers are those who present the bread and juice for the congregation to partake.
Sonrise Café – This team sets up the café, manages supply levels, and cleans up at the end.
Scripture Reader – Readers lead the congregation in scripture reading. The reader is provided a script that introduces the scripture. Up to three readers are needed every week.
Hospitality Bread Bakers – Our bakers lovingly bake homemade loaves of bread that are given as a gift to our guests. The baker is provided with labels and bags. The bread is then placed in the freezer at church.
