Cub Scout Pack 3419, chartered by Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, has been in existence since 1968. All boys, from 1st through 5th grade, are welcome to join us, regardless of race, creed, color or national origin. Financial assistance is also available. Our Pack vision is to develop resourceful, independent, responsible and gracious young men, fostered in an atmosphere of safety and fun.
Good Shepherd UMC sponsors a Boy Scout Troop from the Anthony Wayne Council. Troop 419 has a rich history with Good Shepherd and offers some of the best quality scouting around. Any boy from 5th grade to age 18 is invited to be involved. The scouting program at Good Shepherd prides itself with motivating boys to think and do for themselves. Campouts, fundraisers, and meetings are the result of what the boys have decided to do and they are intensively involved with planning, setting up, and clean-up. Service hours are a major part of the troop on a group and individual level. The boys at Troop 419 step up to the plate without second thoughts to help others. Johnny Appleseed Festival, David Rogers’ Days, and Matea Park Renaissance Festival are just some of the fundraisers the boys are involved in. Our best seller comes from the apple cider we press ourselves for demonstration and consumption, and kettle cinnamon caramel corn the boys pop themselves in an old-fashioned black iron kettle. Our lineage boasts many Eagle Scouts who continue to be involved and help maintain the integrity of the program. Come be a part of the Boy Scout Troop 419! We would be proud to know you!
