In the congregational life of Good Shepherd Church we offer numerous opportunities to give to mission projects, including regular offering contributions, special offerings, Alternative Christmas Giving, Pumpkin Patch and through desinated gifts, memorials and honorariums.

Many of the ministries described as our Global and Local Mission Projects are supported by Alternative Christmas Giving. Participate simply by giving a gift of mission support through Good Shepherd to designated projects at Christmas and a thank you note will be given to the loved one in whose name the gift has been given.

The Pumpkin Patch is Good Shepherd’s annual community activity to raise awareness and funding for Habitat for Humanity and missions. Held at Good Shepherd during the month of October, pumpkins and autumn decorations are sold. The source of the pumpkins is in itself a mission supporting Native Americans in the Four Corners region of New Mexico. Other special festival activities during the month also support missions.

Helpers are always needed!

$1,000 is earmarked to support for five special programs of the UMC, including Human Relations, Native American Ministries, Peace with Justice, World Communion and UM Students. Special gifts can be given at any time for designated purposed including United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).

In addition to the above, special missions offeringsare received on Easter, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, World Communion Sunday, and Christmas Eve. But you don’t have to wait! Gifts to missions can be given at any time! In fact, the majority of our funding for the projects listed here is made possible through your additional designated giving throught the year.

Everyone has the opportunity to make a tax-deductable designated gift to Good Shepherd Church for the support of any of our mission projects or for the support of the ministry of the congregation. Such gifts can include memorials, honorariums, and estate gifts.
