A meal is served every Family Night 5:00 – 6:15 PM. The cost is $1 for children through grade 5 and $2 for youth and adults. This year the children in Forte Friends and Presto Pals will be arriving to eat at 6:00 PM after the early rush. Parents are encouraged to eat their meal prior to 6:00 and have their children’s food ready at the table when they arrive.
Forte Friends (gr. 3-5) and Presto Pals (gr. 1-2) change to a new time with some new leaders. The choirs will meet 4:45-6:00 PM for a fast paced time of learning songs, musical skills, playing instruments, studying God’s Word, fellowship and prayer. If you’ve enjoyed choir before, you’ll love this. If it’s a new adventure, come along for a great ride.
The choir offerings continue 6:30-8:00 PM for adults and the younger children. The Sanctuary Choir is for singers of all ages. The music represents a wide variety of styles and the fellowship is strong. Make a place in your life for singing; you won’t regret it. His Kids meets at the same time for ages 4 through Kindergarten. Come for a wonderful time of learning and love shared around the Bible and simple songs.
Important note – The student choir for grades 6-12 has moved to a new time, a new place and a new night. Teen Rejoice is moving to Sunday evenings 6:00-7:15 PM in the Sanctuary. Sharing the best in contemporary Christian music, students are invited to put aside the books for a short time and joyfully “sing to the Lord.” Rehearsals begin on September 9.
Between Time (grades 3-5) is back with the same great opportunities for fun and fellowship after school and before choirs (3:00-4:45 PM). It’s a blast! Children who are not staying for choirs will need to leave the building by 5:00 PM.
New to Family Night, the fellowship groups for grades 1-5 have moved to Wednesday evenings 6:30-8:00 PM. OTK (formerly known as K-2 Fellowship) & Club 325 (formerly known as JC’s-KC’s) will offer the same fun, faith and fellowship as in the past. It’s a great opportunity to learn and share with your friends! Let’s discover God’s love together!
Students grades 6-12 have a wide array of fellowship and ministry opportunities throughout the week. On Wednesdays, things start off at 2:45 PM with Between Time offering fellowship, gym activity and even time to study. The rest of the evening is a “work in process” as the leaders and youth discuss ideas and possibilities. Activities end at 8:00 PM.
Several opportunities exist on Family Night for adults to grow as disciples of Jesus. Faith Questions, a Bible study led by Pastor Stacy, meets 6:30-8:00 PM to study such topics as: Who is God in Three Persons? How Does the Bible Shape My Faith? How Can I Forgive? What are the Sacraments? How Do I Lead a Prayerful and Devotional Life? The group will look at these from a scriptural perspective with insights from the United Methodist tradition. Come as you are able, the group will be there when you get back. Also at 6:30-8:00 PM, Disciple Bible Study #4, an in-depth study of the scriptures with Kent Guilliume, is offered. Registrations are being taken in the main hallway at a cost of $25.00 for the workbook. Mom’s Heart, a weekly study, discussion, care and support group for mothers, meets at the same time.
Infants -3 year olds are cared for by a trained staff in a loving environment from 6:30-8:00 PM so that parents may enjoy an evening of spiritual growth.
