Sunday School Classes at 9:45 AM
Current classes include:
  • Generativity: Older adults gather for weekly study and fellowship. Current study is a “Lifeguide on self-esteem”.
  • Passages: A fun, faith-focused class for any age. Current study is: Coping as Christians by Max Lucado
  • Shake N Shine: An intergenerational class with a wide variety of interests. Current study is undetermined
  • Bible Study: A great class for those interested in focusing their study on the Bible, currently studying Exodus/Leviticus
Weekday Studies
Disciple Bible Study
A 36 week commitment to study is offered annually. Disciple is offered a 4 different levels with Disciple I being a pre-requisite for all other courses. Short Term Disciple Bible Study of the Old and New Testaments will be offered during the Seekers Quarterly Sunday School class. This year, Disciple 4 is being offered on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM beginning August 29th (see below for more information).

Pastor's Study

  • Wednesday Mornings with Pastor Phil Emerson at 9:00 AM. The class is current studying 1 & 2 Kings.
  • Wednesday Evenings with Pastor Stacy Downing at 6:30pm.

The Numbers of Hope
Dates: Sunday mornings at 9:45 beginning April 6 Location: Good Shepherd, Vance & Reed
John 3:16, Timeless and powerful, these words proclaim a message of love, a source of hope, and a promise of life. One sentence, softly spoken nearly two thousand years ago, is just as relevant today as when Jesus first uttered it.

In this interactive small group study, Max Lucado unpacks the incredible message of John 3:16, illuminating one of the most beloved scriptures in the entire gospel. This would be a great study to invite a friend to attend. Use the sign-up sheet in the main-hallway to let us know you need a book for this class. Cost of the book/and study guide is just: $25.00, but free copies are available to those who find the cost prohibitive, just see Deb Miteff.

Bible Study: "Disciple 4"
Date/Time: Wednesdays at 6:30 - 8:00 PM: Aug 29 - May 27 Location: Good Shepherd at Vance and Reed

Class is being offered on Wednesdays beginning August 29 th, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. This is a great class, being led by Kent Guilliume. To participate in the class, you must have already taken Disciple 1. Sign-up in the main-hallway at Vance & Reed or Contact Deb Miteff @ damiteff@fwgoodshepherd.org

Bible Study: "Christian Believer"
Date/Time: Sundays, 5:00 - 7:00 PM starting Sept 16 Location: Good Shepherd at Vance and Reed

Have you ever sung a hymn or recited a creed and asked, "Why do we say that?" Discover the church's answer to questions that grow out of human life and Christian experience as you study church history and doctrine in this in-depth look at the classical doctrines. About 30 weeks. Each participant will receive a study manual and a book of readings, for those that can contribute, the cost of these resources is $40.00.
