Stewardship
The Widow's Two Mites

As Jesus sat near the Temple treasury, he watched the people as they dropped in their money. Many rich men dropped in a lot of money; then a poor widow came along and dropped two little copper coins, worth about a penny. He called his disciples together and said to them, “I tell you that this poor widow put more in the offering box than all the others”. For the others put in what they had to spare of their riches; but she, poor as she is, put in all that she had – she gave all that she had to live on.

MARK 12:41-12:44

A person’s giving is not measurable in dollars or any other measure of wealth. Stewardship is a matter of one’s personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ. The widow was heeding God’s call on here as she felt she should respond. Each of us, in considering how much they should be giving to God, should search our souls to hear God’s voice guiding us in our actions. If we are earnestly searching for God’s message and guidance we will find direction for the application of our Time, Talents and Treasurers. There by will we reach that level of spiritual maturity that leads to peace and harmony which is provided by God.

Good Shepherd 100% Rule

The Good News is that when giving through the church, 100% of every gift is sent on to the mission to which it is designated. There are no “Pass Through or Administrative” charges. This is reassuring news in these times of troubling news of miss-management by so called charitable agencies.
